Replace spark plugs on 2016-2022 Lexus RX350, including intake manifold removal to access the rear three plugs on the V6 engine.

Parts Needed

→Use a small flat-blade screwdriver under the MAF sensor connector tab to help release stubborn connectors.
→Remove the air filter out of its box before doing any major work to avoid dropping dirt on top of it.
→Clean the throttle body while it's off — spray brake cleaner onto a rag, open the throttle plate with your finger, and wipe the interior.
→Check the throttle body O-ring gasket; if it sticks to the throttle body, reseat it in its groove. Replace only if damaged or deformed.
→Blow off accumulated dirt from the intake manifold surface before removal so debris doesn't fall into the intake runners.
→Plug or cover the intake runner openings with a rag after manifold removal to prevent bolts, nuts, or dirt from falling in.
→Inspect the upper-to-lower manifold O-ring gaskets — replace if cracked or dry; Lexus recommends replacing them every time.
→You don't need to mark ignition coils before removal — they are all identical and interchangeable.
→Anti-seize on spark plug threads is not necessary; these plugs rarely seize.
→If you don't have a torque wrench for the spark plugs, tighten until the gasket crushes and resistance increases, then add a small amount more.
→For rear spark plugs, use a combination of ~3-inch extensions; an electric or air ratchet speeds this up significantly.
→Install all intake manifold bolts and nuts finger-tight first, then torque in a crisscross pattern to load the gasket evenly.
