2016-2022 Lexus RX450h Hybrid 12 Volt Vehicle Battery DIY Replacement Instructions

Parts Needed

• Battery AGM Group 47
• Battery terminal protector spray

Tools Needed

• Socket and ratchet set(10mm)
• 1/4 inch impact driver
• Impact driver socket adapter set
• Small flat-blade screwdriver
• Trim and clip removal kit
• 1/4 inch torque wrench

Tips & Tricks

• →Disconnect the negative terminal before the positive terminal when removing, and install positive first when reinstalling.
• →Disconnect the small connector near the negative terminal to gain more working space.
• →Don't forget to disconnect the vent hose on the side of the battery before removal — it vents fumes out of the vehicle interior.
• →After battery replacement, the power hatch won't close automatically — manually close it with your hands to initialize it.
• →After initialization, verify the hatch opens and closes normally before finishing.
• →A park assist malfunction light may appear after battery replacement — drive in a straight line at over 40 mph for 5-10 seconds to clear it.
• →Apply battery terminal protective spray to prevent corrosion on the terminals.
• →When reinstalling push pins, press them out first so they're in the correct position before inserting — installing them in the wrong position means they won't hold.
• →Press push pins until flush only — going too far will cause them to loosen again.
• →Start the vehicle after completion and check for warning lights on the dash.
