2007-2021 Toyota Tundra Engine Coolant Drain And Fill Instructions

Parts Needed

• Coolant

Tools Needed

• Socket and ratchet set(10mm, 22mm)
• Coolant bleeding funnel kit
• Drain pan
• Trim and clip removal kit
• Jack stands
• Floor jack
• 5/16 inch ID drain hose
• 1/2 inch impact gun
• 1/2 inch torque wrench
• Rechargeable LED mini work light

Tips & Tricks

• →Make sure the engine is cold before opening the radiator cap to avoid burns.
• →Draining only the passenger side block drain is sufficient; the opposite side yields virtually nothing.
• →Pour coolant in slowly and patiently to avoid creating an air lock.
• →Bleed the system by revving the engine up and down with the heat set to max hot until hot air blows at idle.
• →You know the system is fully bled when the truck idles for about a minute without throttle input and still blows hot air from the vents.
• →Overfill the coolant reservoir slightly above the full mark when hot, because the full mark is calibrated for cold coolant and it will suck some back as it cools.
