Tips & Tricks
- →Make sure the engine is cold before opening the radiator cap to avoid burns.
- →Draining only the passenger side block drain is sufficient; the opposite side yields virtually nothing.
- →Pour coolant in slowly and patiently to avoid creating an air lock.
- →Bleed the system by revving the engine up and down with the heat set to max hot until hot air blows at idle.
- →You know the system is fully bled when the truck idles for about a minute without throttle input and still blows hot air from the vents.
- →Overfill the coolant reservoir slightly above the full mark when hot, because the full mark is calibrated for cold coolant and it will suck some back as it cools.
